Locking your computer… is it even needed anymore?

Wow. So, if you can’t be compelled to turn over a password, passphrase or combination for a safe, it seems to me to be the same for a computer… sheesh, this is something to watch.

“And in this case, if you have encrypted files, is that like a safe? You can be compelled, according to Supreme Court precedent, to turn over the key to a safe. But you can’t be compelled to turn over the pass phrase or, that is, the combination to the safe. So what’s it more similar to? And this is what courts will wrestle with.”

Don’t make up Reviews For Your Website

Friday, June 24th, 2011

I generally enjoy most articles from Graywolf… but this one goes too far on how to get reviews for your website.  I emphatically disagree with him on this. Instead of faking reviews, offer unbelievable service!  Then reviews will come to you.  I have found that if you make the review process easy that people will easily make the review… but they have to WANT to FIRST!

Always own your own blog or site

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Don’t host your site on someone else’s site on the internet. Be sure to maintain all control of all of your content, images, media and files.  Make sure you always have backups of everything.  Having a blog at tumblr or blogger is not a good idea as you don’t “OWN” what you put up there really…  This is a great article on Why Not Tumblr!
